How to Increase your sex drive Naturally
Your sex drive/libido is connected to your health and hormones and often associated with ovulation.
Most women have the strongest libido in the week before ovulation which tapers off in the luteal phase after you ovulate.
Of course, there are many things that rule our libido, but for most the height of it is around ovulation and a healthy sign of health.
If you are not feeling like you need to be tied to a tree and completely wild and want to grind on everything around ovulation, then we need to work on your libido!
So many women I speak to about sex drive are embarrassed to discuss their present or not to present sex drive.
This is something we need to change because there is no shame in feeling Horny.
Its Healthy, Its Normal & one off the wonders of life.
The body is designed to make sure you get pregnant, it’s just biological, it wants to continue the human race, so it will try and get you pregnant every month.
Thus, it makes sense to make you super horny and wet to make sure you have sex and the sperm can travel into your womb space to meet an egg and create life.
But of course, as Humans sex is so much more than just reproduction.
Its pleasure.
So how do we increase our sex drive
and what hinders it?
Top things to consider that hinder sex drive:
Chronic Stress
Poor diet, lack of nutrients and thus poor health
Lack of ovulation
Low Oestrogen
Excess Oestrogen
Hypothyroidism
Contraceptive pill
Certain medications
Self esteem and low confidence
Relationship incompatibility, troubles in relationship (But of course you don’t need to be in a relationship to enjoy a healthy libido)
Trauma
Feeling Unsafe
🕯️ Some of the bullet points above may seem obvious. Let’s explore some of the points a little…
The contraceptive pill
The contraceptive pill is one that isn’t talked about enough. Because the way the pill is designed to work it turns off your hormones and your cycle and stops you ovulating so you cannot get pregnant. But because it turns off this natural cycle and your hormones (Testosterone and Oestrogen are linked to an increase in sex drive ) it also dampens your sex drive.
…and what is fascinating to me is that many women I speak to and clients I have had and my own personal experience, when they come off the pill their ‘type’ and attraction completely changed., which this of course affects your sex drive.
They say that when we are on the pill because are hormones are dialled down we tend to go for more ‘feminine men’ who may have more oestrogen (maybe our bodies way of searching for what we’ve lost’ an interesting topic and debate.
When we come off the pill and our hormones are flowing, we tend to be attracted to more ‘masculine men’ who have healthy amounts of Testosterone. Now you can interoperate this as you want but essentially we are living in a very Oestrogenic world with plenty of plastics and chemicals everywhere (Xenoestrogens)and both men and women are gaining way too much Oestrogen - We can explore this in another article.

Stress it often overlooked in Fertility and Sex Drive. Because really your body will only conceive when it feels safe. But I guess feeling safe can bet linked to so many things. Making sure you are in the parasympathetic stress response more often. Being more present in your body, other than in your head.
This doesn't mean you can’t ever be stressed. Small amounts of short burts or short lives stress is very healthy and normal. If we were never stressed you wouldn’t be able to get out of dangerous situations.
But the problem lies in CHRONIC STRESS. LONG TERM STRESS. Which is why I teach my clients Rejuvenating Rituals to add to their daily lives.
*And something important to note is sex and especially orgasm is one of the biggest stress relieving tools we have.
Self esteem and low confidence
Self esteem and low confidence is a big one connected to libido. I believe this is linked to a disconnection to your body.
