Anxiety

Anxiety arrives due to so many different reasons.

It can be circumstantial, linked to your environment, living in the future or linked to an irritated gut.

I would always recommend working on the gut to ensure feelings of anxiety aren’t a symptom of leaky gut or dysbiosis (dysfunction to your microbiome).

Then explore your emotions and unpacking if the anxiety is associated with your environment, worrying about the future etc

Can you live more presently? Do you feel anxious if you just think about today or this moment.

Does a walk in nature help?

Get back into your body and out of your mind.

Can you journal your thoughts out?

Try Yin Yoga, get on the floor, foetal position may help.

Hug yourself, Love yourself and Be Kind to Yourself.


Herbs that may help…

  • SKULLCAP/SCUTELLERIA - its called skullcap because it feels like a warm cap on your head, it calms the nervous system and grounds your energy.

  • LAVENDER

  • PASSIONFLOWER

  • LEMON BALM



*I would avoid VALERIAN, it is really popular but for most people it can actually make them feel more anxious and irritated.

It is mostly the PITTA FIRE type people that get irritated by Valerian. Valerian is supportive for VATA types. I just personally feel other herbs work better and taste better. Feel into this intuitively.



TEA CEREMONY

Make a tea and do a tea ceremony.

Use a teapot if you have one, infuse your herbs into hot water and wait 5 minutes.

1 tsp per cup . Lavender is quite strong so try 1/2 tsp first.

Strain and pour into your favourite cup.

Sip quietly.

Add wild honey if desired.
